Amy Winehouse To Appeal At Norway Court

Troubled Amy Winehouse is having to appear in a Norweigan court in the new year to appeal against being fined for possessing cannabis.

The singer was arrested at the Radisson hotel in Bergen back in October, along with her husband Blake Fielder-Civil and another person after being caught with 7g of the drug. She spent the night in police cells before being released without charge after paying a 500 euro fine, which is about £350.

Her father, Mitch Winehouse, has previously said on ITV's This Morning programme that the drugs didn't belong to Amy and that she was tricked into signing the confession because she thought it was a release form. The Norweigan police disagreed though and said that fluent English speakers had been there to help her, and that as far as they're concerned she knew exactly what she was signing.

Amy's dad also said that the reason she's appealing is because any convictions could harm her career by ruining her chances of getting a US visa.

It's been reported that Amy will be appearing in Bergen on the 29th February.
