Sigur Ros have shown their support for Radiohead and the radical way in which they released new album In Rainbows (review link) as a download, where fans could name their exact price.
Talking to The Sun, vocalist Jonsi Birgisson said: "I think it's cool what Radiohead did. It's a good idea that makes so much sense. Bands get so little money from every CD they sell anyway. Doing it like this, if they only get a few pounds, they might actually get more than before."
However, Birgisson did go on to add, "It's hard for young bands starting off. Radiohead have a name. They can do whatever they want. People are waiting for their album and they like their music so they would happily make a donation."
This coming Monday November 5th, Sigur Ros will release their DVD Heima and new companion soundtrack Hvarf-Heim.
