Badly Drawn Boy To Play Low Key Show This Week

Badly Drawn Boy will play a special show to celebrate 10 years since his first release EP1 arrived in 1997.

The singer-songwriter will play at Sankeys in Manchester on Thursday October 11th as part of the club's new The Aftershow night. Also performing on the night will be Beep Seals, Jim Noir and DJS, including Danny and Richard McNamara of Embrace.

Speaking on the official Badly Drawn Boy MySpace blog, he says: "September marked my 10th anniversary as a recording artist, and my birthday this week psychologically marked the end of this current album's life cycle."

"Thanks to anyone who came to see myself and the band play this year. We've had some amazing and memorable shows and they never happen without a responsive audience, so thanks again if you were there."

In other news, Badly Drawn Boy also hinted at a new release: "My intention is to release brand new material before the end of the year in the form of an EP or maybe mini-LP, even if it's a collection of demos, I'm eager to move on creatively."
