FatCat are to release a compilation of early Vashti Bunyan material before the year is out but before the double CD arrives, the label will also be issuing a special 7" single.
The 7" is actually a reissue of Bunyan's debut single Some Things Just Stick In Your Mind that came out in May 1965 on the Decca label, with the singer-songwriter billed simply as Vashti (no Bunyan).
Some Things Just Stick In Your Mind was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, while the b-side includes her own composition I Want To Be Alone. The single was re-mastered from a rare existing copy of the original 7" and now 1000 new copies will be released on September 10th.
As mentioned above, a collection of rare Vashti Bunyan material will surface this Winter as a special 2CD package, also named Some Things Just Stick In Your Mind - that compiles early singles and demo tracks from 1964-1967.
FatCat will issue this on October 8th in the UK, Europe and Japan, with the US version coming out on DiCristina Stair Builders.
