Iggy Pop Backs Elijah Wood

Iggy Pop has given the thumbs up for Elijah Wood to play him in a planned movie based upon his band The Stooges.

Although rumours have been circulating for the last few months regarding Wood's role, the film has yet to be given the all clear according to Iggy, who said: "We have no agreement yet to even do the film. The producers have got big mouths and keep jumping the gun."

Pop also continued in the interview with XFM, "I think Elijah (Wood)'s a very good actor though. If he can play a hobbit then he should be able to play me."
