AOL has signed Napster Inc. to be its exclusive online music subscription service, which will replace AOL Music Now.
AOL Music Now currently has around 350,000 subscribers who will now have their accounts changed to Napster within the next 60 days. AOL will also promote the Napster partnership through their free music site AOL Music.
The expansion in Napster's customer base will mean it can now go head to head with Apple Inc.'s iTunes store, which currently accounts for 80% of US paid download sales.
