Flaming Lips are hosting a very special competition and they want fans to send in videos of themselves dancing to their music.

The band wants fans to film themselves to audition for their New Year's Eve show with Gnarls Barkley at USC Galen Center, Los Angeles, CA.

Flaming Lips have posted the following message:

*Audition to Dance with the Flaming Lips on New Year's Eve*

*This New Year's Eve the Flaming Lips have decided they want to add a special guest to their line up...you.*

To film yourself in short-form, auditioning to be a member of the Lips on-stage dance troupe; In-costume, showcasing your skills. Submit your audition video for a chance to win a place on stage dancing with the Flaming Lips during their New Year's Eve 2007 show in Los Angeles!

The rules:

* If you don't already own the new Flaming Lips album At War With The Mystics, go buy it, or any of their other wonderful albums, or download them from iTunes or your favorite digital retailer.

* Make a video of yourself dancing to your favorite Flaming Lips song or whatever you think will compell the Lips to choose you. (Please limit this to around three minutes.)

* Join the Flaming Lips Dance Contest Group by going here and uploading your video, making sure to tag it with Flaming Lips NYE Dance Contest

* Submit an entry form here (or else you'll be disqualified!).

* Cross your antenna and pray you win.

*Grand Prize is:

- Two tickets to the Flaming Lips (and Gnarls Barkley) show Dec 31 at the USC Galen Center, Los Angeles, CA.

- Space on stage w the Lips to dance!!
