My Chemical Romance are furious at a British tabloid according to online reports.
The band have complained that the Daily Mail published an article that suggested the band encouraged teenage fans to harm themselves.
Speaking about the article, vocalist Gerard Way angrily said: "In the UK there's a conservative newspaper and they refer to us basically as a death cult that encourage kids to self-harm (themselves)."
"It was the most ignorant, ridiculous thing we've ever read."
Way also said he is glad that Chemical Romance don't have to suffer the same negative attention from the American press and added:
"We're intelligent and we have something to say. We don't use, for example, God or religion as a scapegoat in a lot of ways bands will to sell a record. We have a lot of respect for everybody and what they believe in."
