The Roots - Birthday Girl (Feat. Patrick Stump)

Birthday Girl has already been dropped by The Roots from their upcoming new album Rising Down, but not before the video was shot. The track is the band's collaboration with Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump and despite being not suitable for the final album cut (it was described as "sticking out like a sore thumb"), iTunes will still be selling the song as a standalone single.
The video, obviously in need of some extra web traffic, features a cameo from porn star Sasha Grey, who plays an 18 year old girl celebrating her birthday party and has plenty of innuendos etc.
Grey herself recently said of the video's theme, "Our society is obsessed with using sex to market videos, films, music, campaigns, etc., but yet porn is considered taboo and immoral."
"The concept of the video is a girl turning 18, and luring men to her because she's of age, and her sister isn't happy about it. It will be exciting to see how many viewers get angry that a porn star is playing the role of a young woman who is embracing her sexuality in a naughty way."
The Roots release Rising Down on April 28th / 29th (UK/US) via Def Jam.
