Atlas Sound - Quarantined

As you're probably well aware, Deerhoof's charismatic front man Bradford Cox also masquerades under the guise of Atlas Sound and at the beginning of the year, he released his first solo record Let The Blind Lead Those Who Can See But Cannot Feel. Limited to a US issue only, the classic 4AD have label have snapped-up the release to make it available in the UK come May 5th.
Described by Cox himself as an "ambient record", Let The Blind is a hazy skip through home-recorded skewed pop, lo-fi electronics and claustrophobic images. A prime example of this can be heard in song Quarantined; lyrically paranoid, Cox sings over electronic skitters, "quarantined and kept so far away from my friends, I'm waiting to be changed" - in relation to his time spent in a children's hospital, to have surgery on his chest and back.
