Colin Meloy - We Both Go Down Together (Live)

Fans of The Decemberists will probably look upon the new Colin Meloy album as the Holy grail. The album compiles 14 live songs as performed by Meloy on his 2006 solo tour, outside of his usual band's schedule.
The collection isn't just your usual live package, as we get to hear lots of rarities, cover versions (The Smiths, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac and R.E.M.) and some numbers even see Meloy tackling tracks that date back to his pre-Decemberists days, as a member of his first band Tarkio.
Colin Meloy Sings Live! is out April 8th on Kill Rock Stars and we have one song from the compilation available as a free MP3. The composition in question? A live take on We Both Go Down Together (the original appeared on 2005's Picaresque), where you can not only hear the heartfelt nature of the performance, but also his playful banter with the crowd.
