In 1974, Bernard Purdie recorded the soundtrack for the first ever major black porn movie, Lialeh. Thankfully, the Light In The Attic label have reissued this classic album making it widely available.
The soundtrack is a mix of funk, soul, lightning speed drums, horns, wah guitars and proto hip hop breaks.
Bernard Purdie recorded the Lialeh soundtrack while between projects with Curtis Mayfield, Aretha, The Last Poets, The Rolling Stones, James Brown.
