Based in Chalk Farm, North London, Weekender Records celebrated its first anniversary in September 2007 having released artists including Look See Proof, Dogs, The Indelicates, The Lea Shores, Butterfly Bangs, Subliminal Girls, The Rocks, The People's Revolutionary Choir, The Runners and Kingsize in its opening year.

Initially started by Austrian based club owner Justin Barwick and band manager Grant Box, the label takes its name from the legendary Weekender Club in Innsbruck, a prestigious and renowned European touring venue where many artists on the label were discovered. More recently, signings have included Official Secrets Act, 1984, NiTasha Jackson and The Lines with the London-based label now being run by James Amner with assistance from Andy Free and Lesley Oliveros.

Boasting a sister label operating out of Berlin helmed by Desi Vach with releases including The Bishops and Chikinki as well as many artists also signed in the UK, the Weekender enterprise also includes a touring arm in the form of Weekender Tour Assistance and a licensing arm extending to Japan, the US and Europe, with Weekender publishing is due to commence business in 2008.

Upcoming releases include albums from The Indelicates (American Demo), Eight Legs (Freaking Out The Neighbours) and Look See Proof (TBC) with singles from Official Secrets Act, Butterfly Bangs, NiTasha Jackson and The Lines.
