Stromba were born in 1998 as a duo (Tom Tyler and James Dyer) who made sample-based tracks on an Akai S950, but have since expanded into more of a group.

They have collaborated with James McKechan, as well as contributions from Adrian Meehan, Duncan Mackay, Max Brennan, Teowa Young, James Nye and Nichol Thompson. You may be more familiar with the work Tom Tyler has released on the DC Recordings label - the same company run by partner in crime, James Dyer.

Stromba are one of those groups impossible to pigeonhole - they combine everything from dub, hip hop, funk, jazz, dance, samples and a huge variety of instruments - melodica, double bass, sax, violins, percussion, tablas and naturally, plenty of breaks and beats.
