SJ Esau makes quirky, twisted folk pop songs.

Having released several home-recorded and self-released albums, SJ Esau also appeared on Twisted Nerve with his fantastic All Agog 7".

Why? (of Anticon) reworked one of his track - a collaboration which came about from a Why? feature on this very site.

SJ Esau can also be seen masquerading as a member of Jeremy Smoking Jacket.

In his own words:

"SJ Esau is the name used for certain sections of the outpoorings of me. Hi, my name is Sam. With a slightly pained forehead and surrendering arms, I would describe this music as 'experimental pop'. Sometime we are we not I with companions. Lots of things have been recorded. Some of them are good things. I like the knees of females and would one day like to touch one."
