randomNumber, is the solo electronic project of musician Matt Robson, one of the UK's most captivating electronic artists.

A key player in the Leeds music scene for over a decade, Matt was previously the drummer with a number of inspiring bands, including Coping Saw, Rauschen and most notably Hood. He is also part of Sierpinski and is involved in a number of other projects.

randomNumber has imbued his music with an astounding level of humanity, soul and emotion. Although primarily driven by layers of intricate beats it also incorporates finely-tuned melodies rarely heard in the genre and it’s his ear for melody that is the real key to randomNumber's craft.

Describing his material as 'machine-made music for human beings' with 'equal parts of light and shade', the sound of randomNumber is crackling scattershot beats, and Warp-style metallic soundsnips which spark and flow around a core of melancholic melodies.

With critically acclaimed releases on both Rocket Racer and Mogwai's Rock Action imprint we're in fine company.
