Who Is Ommm?
The Lancashire born Edmund Davie as he's known to family and friends. But to fellow enthusiasts of madcap inventive electronica across the land, Ommm is the latest signing to the bizarre and always surprising Adaadat label. Having previously performed in various improvised noise groups, including Z'ot with 19-t label founder Shigeru Ikeda (AKA DJ 100,000,000), Davie's Ommm project was born in Hamburg, Germany in 2002 and is his first venture into electronic music.
His music?
More genre-swopping than you've had hot dinners and his forthcoming album, the aptly named 'Testing The Equipment' does just that and then some. Ommm takes the more traditional role of electriconic producer to another realm, combining impressive production skills with a love for cute and unique sounds, retro gaming insanity, apeshit drums and beautiful melody - all of which have led to heavy radio airplay, including coverage on Rob Da Bank, BBC Radio 3's 'Mixing It', numerous sessions on Resonance FM and album track 'Emac' was crowned 'Breezeblock Bomb ' on Mary Ann Hobb's well respected 'Breezeblock' show.
