Kula Shaker were a Britpop band who rose to fame with their Indian-indie crossing hybrid album "K", in 1996.

The band's second album 'Peasants Pigs and Astronauts' was met with a lukewarm reaction and the group duly split.

Vocalist Crispin Mills then went on to form his new band The Jeevas, who gained little success.

In 2006 Kula Shaker announced they were to reform and a series of live dates were scheduled. Their new album is expected later this year.
