Kraftwerk are one of the most influential groups, since they formed in 1970. The group was started by founder members Florian Schneider and Ralf Hutter. Initially, the band combined electronic music with wind and flute instruments, but moved solely into electronica at a later date.
As a full band, Schneider and Hutter were joined by Wolfgang Flur and Karl Bartos. Another previous member was Klaus Dinger, who went on to form another influential Krautrock band named Neu!. More recently, the band toured extensively in 2005.
