Eoghan Quigg was born 12 July 1992 in Dungiven, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland.

The singer came to public attention when he auditioned for UK music contest the X Factor in 2008. After passing the audition round, Quigg went through to join Simon Cowell's group - 14-24 boys.

He eventually made it through to the finals and finished third, behind boyband JLS (who were second) and winner Alexandra Burke.

He also toured with many of the show's acts as part of the X Factor Tour in Spring 2009. Those who took part in the tour were Diana Vickers, Ruth Lorenzo, Laura White, JLS, Alexandra Burke, Daniel Evans and Rachel Hylton.

Following the X Factor, Eoghan signed with RCA Records in 2008 and released his self-titled debut album on April 6, 2009. The CD was a collection of cover versions, plus one original song - '28,000 Friends' - as written by James Bourne of Busted.
