Ash started off as a three-piece band from Northern Ireland in 1992, before becoming a foursome in 1997 when Charlotte Hatherley joined.
They released their debut single Jack Names The Planets in 1994 and continued to release a string of hotly tipped singles.
Their debut album 1977 came out in 1996, which contained their breakthrough singles Girl From Mars, Kung Fu and Goldfinger.
Ash followed their debut with further albums. Charlotte Hatherley then left the group in 2006 to concentrate on her own career.
