Ascoltare VS Kool Keith

New name and work from computer music artist Dave Henson, a mentallist individual who has realised that in order to remain relatively sane he must abandon music altogether. However, this scenario seems impossible for a sensitive man whose love of music weighs in as far more important than an anchored mental disposition.

Ascoltare, (from the Italian word for 'to listen') is fine-grained and structured electronic music encompassing excursions into abstract dub, weird pop, acoustic manipulation, micro-sound and experimental hip-hop whilst utilizing found sounds, irregular beats / scatter breaks, Noton production aspirations, spoken word, de-quantized / chance-encounter music as well as continuing explorations of melody as heard previously in Mouse Finding The Key (Skool) and Gwei-Lo (Bella Union).

Dave Henson, comes to Ascoltare (via the melodic post-rock of Gwei-Lo and his time as a leading light in the Kuala Lumpur death metal scene) from the Cambridge scene which brought us Animals on Wheels/Andrew Coleman (Ninja Tune/Thrill Jockey) and Vert (Sonig).

Ascoltare creates fervent electronica which catapults the listener into densely coloured and compacted audio environments.

Ascoltare has previously supported Chris Clark, DJ /Rupture, the Goodiepal, ISAN, Kid606, Leafcutter John, Ove-NaXx, Mira Calix, Schneider TM and V/Vm.
