Acumen is the collaboration between musicians and producers Greg Holley and Oli Lisher. It is the sound of their instruments, programs, recordings, processes and theories. Greg and Oli created Acumen in order to pursue ideas, experiment with alternative forms of musical composition and perform electronic and organic music in a live setting in a way never seen before.
After meeting at university, Greg Holley and Oli Lisher soon found themselves making music together influenced by a desire to experiment with every day objects and randomly collected samples.
From then on it has been their goal to create music which incorporates the manipulation of found sounds with live instruments, in order to achieve a more original sound. The pair released an album for Benbecula Records on March 17th 2008.
